2012 Doomsday Predictions
On December 21, 2012, various cataclysmic and trans-formative events is about to take place, otherwise known as Doomsday 2012 or the 2012 phenomenon. That date is also said to be the end of the 5,125 years in the Mayan Long calendar.
According to New Age believers, the world is about the experience a spiritual transformation during this time and therefore interprets the 2012 predictions as the beginning, instead of the end of the world. Another prediction about December 21, 2012 is the coronal mass ejection from the sun. In 1859, the same catastrophe happened, when a solar storm occurred, which brought about failures in the telegraph systems in North America and Europe. The same event is predicted to occur in the year 2012, along with huge massive power blackouts and wreckage of satellites.
Explosion from the black hole is another possibility that is expected to occur. When it happens, the cosmic ray waves from the black hole may cause massive and destructive tsunamis on the planet.
Is Doomsday really the end of the world? People are so imaginative about the possible scenario of something that is about to end. Contrary to what many say, the Mayans actually predicted an enlightenment happening when 2012 comes. The link between global catastrophe, Aztec end of the world, and Mayan calendar-based prophecy is largely fiction. There was no mention of Doomsday in any Mayan literature. In fact, scholars from various disciplines have already dismissed the idea of cataclysmic events happening in 2012. NASA meanwhile has compared 2012 fear to the Y2K bug in the late 1990s.
